KbPort integrating PalmSecure F-Pro biometric sensors to enhance security for medical training

KbPort LLC will become a value-added reseller of Fujitsu PalmSecure F-Pro biometrics technology.

The Pennsylvania-based medical training and teaching community leader will be combining Fujitsu’s PalmSecure F-Pro technology with other biometric technologies to provide students with highly secure two-factor authentication for login to training tools.

“Using Fujitsu’s PalmSecure F-Pro biometrics technology ensures that we are protecting the student’s information by using the most advanced tools available to follow the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines,” explained Chuck Miller, president and CEO of KbPort. “By combining PalmSecure with the recording and debriefing components within the KbPort Simplicity Solution, Fujitsu has allowed us once again to create a standard that others will follow.”

“We are delighted that KbPort will be one of the first users of our updated and improved PalmSecure F-Pro biometric technology,” said Randy Fox, vice president, sales, marketing, product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. “As more activity takes place online like training and highly sensitive information exchanges, a higher focus on ensuring the correct identity of the user will be critical.”

Fujitsu’s biometric solutions, PalmSecure sensors, PalmSecure for SSO (single sign-on) and V535 Tablet with Integrated F-Pro only recognize the palm vein pattern if blood is actively flowing within the individual’s veins, providing reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, and fast and easy enrollment.

KbPort will be featuring this technology at the annual International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare show next week in Los Angeles.
